Vintage Linen Calendar

Remember the linen calendars that granny would have hanging in the kitchen on a wood rod? Well I purchased some vintage ones recently and began making things...like this tote bag.

Love the whimsy saying "them that works eats" on this one!
It's from 1969. A good year...

I used a vintage pillowcase as the lining with a hanky as an inside pocket.

The ties are from a vintage tablecloth. So fun!

Sacramento Craft and Flea Outdoor Marketplace

This Sunday, October 23rd I'll be at this event in Sacramento. It is held on 21st between W & X Streets under the freeway from 8am to 3pm.

The outdoor marketplace is now an annual event held each October. So you'll need to come this Sunday to see all the goodies or you'll have to wait till next year!

Here's a few of my new designs you'll see in my booth...

A vintage tea towel, doily and hot pad...

Recently I was looking at some of my vintage linen treasures and I noticed a lovely tea towel that had trim colors which matched a special crocheted hot pad...got me thinking...together they would be a darling tote bag!

But wait - must add a vintage doily, or two.

So here is how it turned out - pretty sweet! I've added another vintage doily on the back of the bag and put two pockets using the tea towel material on the inside.

You can see my tag hanging from the corner - this tote is in my booth ready to go home to a new owner!
